Connecting Entrepreneurs and Franchisors - A UX Journey

Overview

In this case study, I will present how I tackled the challenge of creating a user-friendly and intuitive interface for the Repplico platform, which connects aspiring entrepreneurs looking to open franchises with ideal franchisors. My role encompassed the entire process from research and interaction design to establishing a cohesive design system.

Role and Duration

As a designer, I was tasked with redesigning the user flows and interfaces for both entrepreneurs and franchisors on the Repplico platform. I worked on this project from June to July 2023.

Problem Statement

The challenge lay in developing a user experience that catered to both entrepreneurs seeking franchises aligned with their profiles and franchisors aiming to connect with ideal entrepreneurs. Additionally, we needed to create an interactive quiz to map entrepreneurs' profiles and enhance the management experience for both parties, ensuring a seamless and efficient journey.

Goals

The objectives were to empower prospective entrepreneurs to discover franchises that matched their profiles and goals, while enabling franchisors to stand out and connect effectively with potential entrepreneurs.

Design Process

The design process to reimagine the flows and interface of the Repplico platform was a meticulous, user-centric journey. My approach encompassed in-depth research, customer journey mapping, flow refinement, detailed prototyping, and the creation of a unified design system. Below, I detail each step of the process:

Research: I initiated the project by delving into existing company research, which encompassed user behavior data, preferences, and market studies. I conducted competitive analyses to understand how similar platforms approached the connection between franchisors and entrepreneurs. By combining these insights with desk research, I gained a profound understanding of user needs and the market context. From the research, I could develop more compatible user personas.

Customer Journey Mapping: Based on the collected insights, I created a detailed map of the customer journey. I identified critical touchpoints between entrepreneurs and franchisors, comprehending their motivations, goals, and frustrations at each stage. This visualization helped me identify improvement opportunities and prioritize crucial aspects for optimization.

Design System: To ensure visual and interaction consistency, I created a comprehensive design system. I defined a color palette reflecting Repplico's identity and instilling confidence. I selected legible, adaptable typography for various devices. Moreover, I devised reusable interface components, such as buttons, forms, and cards, to maintain cohesion throughout the platform.

Results

The implemented design solutions yielded a more intuitive and engaging experience for entrepreneurs and franchisors on the platform. The user-centric approach adopted in the design exhibited the potential to bolster Repplico's ongoing success in the franchisor-entrepreneur connection market. While tangible outcomes hinge on full implementation and user adoption, it is evident that the user-centric design approach has positively impacted the refinement of the Repplico platform experience. By fostering a more efficient and meaningful connection between entrepreneurs and franchisors, we are confident that Repplico is well poised for enduring success in this dynamic business landscape.
